The Quick Olympic anchor is a model developed through detailed product engineering and manufacturing processes. With a weight of 7 kg, the anchor is presented with technical values given for a 6 mm chain size, 6 m boat length, and 1.8 T boat weight.
The shape and size of Olympic anchors are proportioned so that a greater amount of lead is present in the front part of the nose. This weight distribution allows the center of gravity to protrude more towards the tip in a compact size. The subsequent sheet metal forming welding process supports weight distribution optimization by allowing a high strength-to-mass ratio. The resulting cavities and the air trapped inside create a buoyancy effect, contributing to the correct positioning of the anchor on the seabed. The compact shaft structure allows the Olympic anchor to be compatible with most bow rollers available on the market.
Structural Features
- Tip: Developed on two circular surfaces to facilitate the sliding of the material encountered during the seabed penetration process.
- Stabilizing Fins: Helps the anchor maintain a perpendicular position to the seabed during the gripping phase.
- Reinforcement Plate: The special reinforcement applied between the nose and body is defined to provide greater shank resistance against pulls and to increase the joining surface between the two anchoring elements. It also allows the buoy line to be secured, enabling the release of the anchor.
- Eye: The special shape and dimensions of the hole are designed to allow the anchor to be lifted easily and safely. The eye thickness is calculated to withstand high tensile stresses.
